GRANTnet is a straightforward free-to-use service from GRANTfinder, which can help you identify suitable funding for activities or projects. Many schools across the UK are using the website to search for a variety of projects – large and small.
Examples include:
- Setting up after-school clubs concentrating on raising literacy and numeracy standards.
- Buying gardening equipment to set up a wildlife garden.
- Developing curricular projects between the school and its counterparts in Europe (and even as far away as Japan!)
- Opening up facilities such as a sports hall for use by the wider community.
- Teaching children about recycling.
- Educational projects targeted specifically at disadvantaged children.
- Building links with local businesses to prepare pupils for the world of work.
- Pupil-led playground improvements.
- Working with parents to set up a “walking bus” scheme to promote exercise.
- Applying for free fruit and vegetables which have been withdrawn from commercial sale and which would otherwise go to waste.
How to access GRANTnet
When using the system for the first time, go to the 'New User' box on the GRANTnet ‘Log in’ screen. Details to be entered include the user’s e-mail address (this will become the username), name, organisation, postal address and telephone number. Clicking on the 'Sign up' button will generate an e-mail providing a password within minutes.
Using GRANTnet
To search the database, the user will need to answer a few simple questions about the project or activity they wish to undertake and the type of funding required. Once the information has been submitted, GRANTnet provides an overview of all funding schemes suitable for the project.
When you have completed a session in GRANTnet, details of the final search will be sent to David Ritchie, Careers and Personal Development Manager, HCS Ltd to see whether there is the potential for working collaboratively. Sorry we can not help you write bids but HCS will be delighted to talk to you about potential projects and can provide you with information about sources of help to write your own
