Biographical Details:

Alan is a Senior Careers Consultant and delivers careers guidance, Psychometric Testing and support via workshops across our range of projects, e.g. ‘nextstep’, Response to Redundancy, Rapid Response and our ‘costed services’.  Alan has 20 years experience in careers guidance and has the Diploma in Careers Guidance Pts 1 and 2, British Psychological Society Level A  Psychometric Testing Diploma and is a qualified ‘Morrisby’ Tester. He has worked across a wide range of age groups, has management experience and a background in Engineering

Maria Meehan

Biographical Details:

Maria has a prior background in recruitment and has been a Careers Adviser for 13 years.  More recent work over the past 5 years has been within companies in Herts and Essex, supporting those facing redundancy, delivering training in soft skills and helping clients access funded training.  She has specialised in Project Managing a package of outplacement consultancy to individuals and companies affected by the Buncefield Oil Disaster in Hemel Hempstead.

Maria is an experienced NVQ assessor and trainer and for several years was Course Leader for Connexions Diploma courses as Senior Lecturer at the University of Bedfordshire.  She has experience in training a wide variety of professionals, writing tailored course material and is a visiting lecturer at Cambridge University School of Education.  In 2006 Maria was part of a team delivering training on site in Tanzania, course delegates coming as far afield as Kenya and Uganda.

Maria has management experience, a First Class Honours Degree in Applied Social Studies, a Postgraduate Diploma in Careers Guidance, a Certificate of Professional Development in Consulting on the Careers Curriculum from University of Cambridge School of Education and British Psychological Society Level A and B certification to deliver Psychometric tests.  Her particular areas of interest are reflective practice, supervision and working with client groups that have not traditionally had access to Careers Guidance.

Angela Dyer

Biographical Details:

Angela has over 25 years’ professional experience advising people of all ages on careers and courses. She joined HCS five years ago having worked for West London Careers where she was instrumental in setting up and running the company’s fee-paying career guidance service.   Since joining HCS she has worked on community projects within the Watford area and been involved in various redundancy programmes and skills audits throughout Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire.

Angela trained to British Psychological Society Level-A standard in occupational testing and is qualified to use the Morrisby Profile which assesses aptitude and work based personality.

She has a passion for lifelong learning and a particular interest in managing careers information. As a book and web site reviewer she has contributed to publications such as the Careers and Personal Advisers’ Handbook and Career Companion Online.

Angela has a degree in Russian, a post graduate Diploma in Vocational Guidance and a Diploma in Management Studies.

Sally Scott

Biographical Details:

Sally has over 20 years experience of working with people at all levels in her roles within Careers Guidance, Learning & Development, Employee Relations and Recruitment.

She previously worked for both Canada Life Ltd and Marks and Spencer PLC., where she was responsible for providing a proactive HR Consultancy Service.

Sally has had significant involvement in a number of company mergers, acquisitions, restructurings and this has given her first hand experience of managing and supporting people through these transitions. In addition, she has considerable experience of analysing, designing and delivering a wide range of learning and development programmes to meet the needs of both business and employees.

Since joining HCS, Sally has been involved in the delivery of a wide range of services including, Outplacement Programmes, Skills Audits and one to one Careers Guidance. She has also been responsible for designing and delivering a number of HCS’s commercial services including, Performance Management training, Time Management and Pre Retirement Workshops.

Yvonne Powell

Biographical Details:

Yvonne has over 20 years commercial experience including customer facing roles within Customer Service and Human Resources involving the recruitment, selection, personal development and coaching of staff for a blue chip organisation.   Over the last 10 years, Yvonne has delivered careers services and coaching to various organisations and individuals at all levels.

While working for HCS, Yvonne has provided group and one to one career advice and guidance to clients and has been involved in setting up and delivering skills audits to organisations.  She holds qualifications in career guidance and coaching.
